Deep Research
A feature where AI searches and reads dozens of sources on its own to write you a report — condensing hours of research into minutes.

Give it a single question, and the AI searches the web and academic papers on its own, reads through dozens of documents, cross-checks the information, and compiles it into a report with citations. What would normally take hours of research work comes back in minutes to tens of minutes.
In 2025, this feature rolled out across major chatbots at once, and it's often cited as "the first case where AI agents actually became useful." It's especially strong for market research, comparing products before a purchase, or doing preliminary research for academic papers. Even with citations attached, it's still worth opening the original sources to verify important figures yourself.
Try it yourself
- Turn on "Deep Research" (or "Research") mode in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
- Try a prompt like: "Compare three brands of cordless vacuum cleaners on noise level, suction power, and after-sales service, and organize it into a table."
- A few minutes later, you'll get a report with source links — open a few of them to check if they match reality, and you'll see both the strengths and limits of this feature.
