An open-source app that lets you remap Logitech mice and keyboards without an account
OpenLogi is a Rust-based, local-first alternative to Logitech's official Options+ software. It talks directly to Logitech devices over their native protocol, letting you remap buttons, adjust DPI, and control webcams without any account or telemetry. It runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows, and has passed 10,986 stars on GitHub.
What it does
- It implements Logitech's HID++ protocol itself, so it can control mice, keyboards, and webcams without needing an account or internet connection
- Mouse features include button remapping, DPI presets, SmartShift wheel mode toggling, per-button gestures, and per-application profile switching
- Keyboard features cover global F-key remapping and static RGB lighting; camera features let you adjust zoom, focus, exposure, and other UVC hardware settings directly
- All settings live in a single plain-text TOML config file that can be copied between machines
- Options+ and OpenLogi can't run at the same time since they compete for exclusive HID++ access to the same device
Why it matters
It gives Logitech hardware owners an alternative for users frustrated by Options+'s account requirements, resource usage, or lack of Linux support. Being open source, it lets people fine-tune their devices without their usage data being collected.
